Brotherhood Day held on September 17

Monaken Lodge is in need of Brothers to take their Brotherhood in order to be a Quality Lodge for 2011.Source: Wikipedia The Brotherhood committee has achieved a remarkable Brotherhood conversion rate for 2011 as the committee has for the past five years. But there is still work to be done.

At the Fall Ordeal, the Executive Board announced that the Lodge will be hosting a special Brotherhood Day on September 17 from 8:00am until 6:00pm at Seven Mountains Scout Camp. Registration will be from 7:45-8:15am in the Maintenance Shed parking lot and will lead directly to the Brotherhood hike, followed by a day of service at Camp and will conclude with dinner and the Brotherhood ceremony. The day should conclude at approximately 6:30pm.

This day is especially set up for those Ordeal members who are planning on taking their Brotherhood Ordeal but are unable to make it to the Woodchuck Ordeal in October. In order to be eligible for the Brotherhood honor, you must have been an Ordeal member for at least 10 months. The requirements to complete the Brotherhood Ordeal can be found online at www.brotherhood.monaken.org. Please be sure to have your Brotherhood walking stick and your letter with you on hand before attending the day.

Overnight accommodations are available if necessary. If you wish to stay overnight, please note this when you register. Please note, that the Lodge may not be able to accommodate sleeping arrangements due to adult coverage. You will be notified before the event if the Lodge cannot accommodate sleeping arrangements. The Lodge will not have breakfast Sunday morning.

This day is open to all Order of the Arrow Brothers. Registration is $5 for the day or $20 for those taking their Brotherhood (this fee includes the cost of the sash). Register today by visiting www.registration.monaken.org or by calling the Council Office at (717) 667-9236.
