Seven Mountains Scout Camp, Pa — Jon Chester and Maclean Smith were elected the 2015-2016 Section NE-4B Chief and Vice Chief, respectively, during the annual business meeting at the conclusion of the Section NE-4B Conclave. This year’s Conclave was held at Seven Mountains Scout Camp, June 12-14, 2015. The Section Conclave included sporting events, training, and evening shows for approximately 500 Arrowmen and Cub Scouts from across Western Pennsylvania and portions of West Virginia and Maryland.
Chester led the delegation and staff of almost 200 Monaken Lodge members in the planning and implementation of the 2015 Section NE-4B Conclave. Previously, Chester held the position of Monaken Lodge Chief.
Smith was the Training Conference Vice Chief for the Section Conclave. Currently, he is the membership chairman for Monaken Lodge.
The Order of the Arrow section consists of lodges within a geographical area of a region. Section NE-4B is comprised of four lodges of Western Pennsylvania and portions of West Virginia and Maryland. It is led by a chief, vice chief, and secretary. The section has lead training seminars, promote national programs, and provide resources to the member lodges. It, along with the host lodge, are responsible for the planning of the Section Conclave.
As part of Chester’s responsibilities, he will preside over the Council of Chiefs, a quarterly meeting of the delegates of the member lodges. In December, he will attend the National Planning Meeting in Dallas, TX to participate in planning discussions and vote for the election of the National Chief, Vice Chief, and Northeast Region Chief.
